"Wolfgang 1” is a tribute to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart by Doug Thomas performed and recorded by Affan. It is the first of a series of musical portraits of Doug’s composer heroes—including François Couperin, Felix Mendelssohn and Philip Glass—to be released on the Portraits EP.

DOUG THOMAS
Doug Thomas is a prolific composer from France who has worked with several celebrated musicians to create a unique collaborative oeuvre.
His compositions for Ballades (Piano and Coffee Records) were performed by Marta Cascales, Manos Milonakis, Marek Votruba and Muriël Bostdorp. The compositions for the The Seasons project were performed by Louise Lipatti-Mesme, Clio Em, Frances Wilson, Christina McMaster, Alexandra Westcott, Simeon Walker, Ke Ma, Chia-Ying Jaqueline Tu, Garreth Broke, Mattia Vlad Morleo, Affan and Dominique Charpentier. Most recently, “Grace” was performed by Jesse Brown and released on the Sonder House label.

AFFAN
Affan is a young contemporary classical composer from London. Origins, his first album, was the inaugural release of the Lonely Swallow label in 2018. It was well-received by his contemporaries and led to Doug Thomas collaborating with him on this and another composition, “November” from the The Seasons project.
